FC-CIS is proud to be a partner in Athens Eats Together, administered by the Athens Community Council on Aging with funding from the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government. Additional partners include Epting Catering & Design, Food Bank of NE Georgia, and Athens Farmers Market.

It is estimated that the Athens Eats Together program will provide over 690,000 meals to 10,000 Athenians.

On Saturday, December 5, from 9 to 11 a.m,  there will be a food distribution at Winterville United Methodist Church, 101 Parkview Road in Winterville. Athens Eats Together will distribute commodity bags with fresh produce, milk, eggs, and prepared frozen meals.

Athens Eats Together is a county-wide initiative created to provide emergency food relief to any Clarke-County resident, regardless of age,  facing food insecurities due to COVID-19. Funded by the Athens-Clarke County, this collaborative effort is being led by the Athens Community Council on Aging and brings together expertise and resources from the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Epting Events, the Athens Farmers Market, and Family Connection – Communities in Schools of Athens. You can pick up weekly meals at the following distribution sites:

Athens Community Council on Aging, 135 Hoyt Street
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
*Closed November 27th, December 25th, and January 1st

Hilsman Middle School, 870 Gaines School Rd.
Every Monday from 11:00-12:00

Clarke Middle School, 1235 Baxter St.
Every Wednesday from 11:00-12:00

Whitehead Road Elementary, 555 Quailwood Rd.
Every Friday from 11:00-12:00
